Editing

Editing is empathetic work. It is not about fixing the writing or the writer.

In developmental editing, my role is to help writers realize their vision and convey compelling truths about the complications of being human.

Literary: with select clients and as a consulting editor with The New Quarterly (tnq.ca), where I curate the Soundings series (2016–).

Scholarly: focused on the humanities and social sciences.

Sean Left Quietly: A Father’s Memoir. Henry Blumberg (Lindiwe, 2022). The first of two Blumberg memoirs, this one traces the family’s inspiring search for solace after a suicide.
