Editing is empathetic work. It is not about fixing either a manuscript or the writer.
My role is to offer guidance that helps writers realize their vision and release it to the world. That vision can easily be obscured by complex personal histories, faith stories, intergenerational trauma, family secrets, and other complications that resist easy expression.
I also engage in ESL editing with scholars and researchers.
